Ballarat Community Safety Advisory Committee

Expressions of interest

Expressions of Interest are invited from members of the community interested in participating as a community representative on the Ballarat Community Safety Advisory Committee.

The committee brings together a cross section of people from a variety of organisations and backgrounds who share a set of beliefs, attitudes and values that support the promotion of safety and prevention of injury and crime in our community.

The committee is seeking two community members with a specific interest or background which reflect one or more of the five key community safety areas identified in the Community Safety Strategic Statement:
• Preventing violence against women
• Alcohol and drug issues
• CBD public safety
• Neighbourhood safety and wellbeing
• Perceptions of safety

Membership is for a period of two years and the meetings are held bi-monthly on a Wednesday morning.

Applications will be reviewed by a sub-committee of the Community Safety Advisory Committee and selected based on involvement and/or interest in the priority areas of the Community
Safety Strategic Statement.
