Notice of intention to grant a lease

The City of Ballarat hereby gives notice under Section 190 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”) of its intention to grant a 30 year lease to Powercor Australia Ltd for the upgrading of the Transformer located at the Smythesdale Regional Landfill (site indicated on the map below).

Written submissions relating to the proposed leasing of this site will be considered in accordance with Section 223 of the Local Government Act and must be received by the Property Department, City of Ballarat, PO Box 655, Ballarat, Vic. 3350, within 28 days of this notice.

Notice of Special Council Meeting

Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Ballarat City Council will be held at the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Sturt Street, Ballarat, on Wednesday, 27 June 2018 commencing at 7pm.

The Special Meeting is called under section 84 of the Local Government Act 1989 for the purpose of Council to consider the adoption the City of Ballarat Budget 2018/19.

Expression of interest: Audit Advisory Committee membership

Council is seeking expressions of interest for one independent vacancy on its Audit Advisory Committee from suitably qualified people with a broad overall experience and knowledge base with sound financial background.

The Audit Advisory Committee is a formally appointed committee responsible to the Council.

Its role is to report to Council and provide appropriate advice and recommendations on matters relative to its Terms of Reference.

The committee is made up of seven members including the Mayor, two other Councillors and four independent members.

Notice of Special Council Meeting

Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Ballarat City Council will be held at the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Sturt Street, Ballarat, on Wednesday, 20 June 2018 commencing at 7pm.

The Special Meeting is called under section 84 of the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act) for the purpose of Council to hear verbal submissions in support of written submissions received in accordance with section 223 of the Act in relation to the 2018/19 City of Ballarat Draft Budget.

Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Road closure | Ballarat Winter Festival pop-up ice skating rink

The City of Ballarat will once again feature a pop-up ice skating rink in Armstrong Street South, next to Ballarat Town Hall as part of the Ballarat Winter Festival between 30 June and 15 July.

To facilitate with its construction, operation period and removal, the following roads will be closed:

• Armstrong Street South, from Sturt Street to the rear of the Ballarat Town Hall, will be closed from 6am on Monday 18 June.

This closure will remain in place until Wednesday 25 July at this stage; the road may re-open earlier.
