Vietnam Veterans Memorial Service – Sunday 11 August 2019

Road closure

A commemorative service will be held on Sunday 11 August at 11am at the South East Asian War Memorial (corner of Sturt and Dawson Streets).

From 10.30am Vietnam veterans will gather on Lyons Street, prior to marching down the north side of Sturt Street to Dawson Street.

The formal service will commence at 11am.
The service is expected to conclude by noon with Sturt Street reopened to traffic by 1pm. Prior to 1pm Sturt Street will be blocked in both directions from Lyons Street to Dawson Street;
• West bound traffic on Sturt Street will be diverted into Dawson Street South to re-join Sturt Street via Lyons Street.
• East bound traffic on Sturt Street will be diverted into Lyons Street North to re-join Sturt Street via Dawson Street.

Dawson Street North and South will be closed to through traffic at the Sturt Street intersection.

Pedestrian access to shops and services is available at all times during these altered traffic conditions.

Speed restrictions and some short delays are expected, therefore all road users are reminded to approach the area with caution and follow the direction of marshals and police.
